Martin® Twist™ Tensioner is a patented belt cleaner tensioning device that stores energy in a twisted rubber coupling to supply steady, consistent cleaning pressure regardless of the state of blade wear. Tensioning is set by turning the tensioning gear until the blades contact the belt, then advancing it the number of notches specified for the belt width — the ratchet locks automatically. If a blade is ever pulled through by a splice or foreign object, the tensioner's internal self-relieving coupling rolls over, releasing pressure without exposing personnel or equipment to a rotating external hub.
