Martin Brush Cleaner
A rotating, motor-driven specialty belt cleaner purpose-built for ribbed, flighted, grooved and chevron conveyor belts. A polypropylene, oil-tempered wire or nylon brush turns against belt motion to remove fines and residue that fixed-blade cleaners cannot reach. Supplied by Pankaj Enterprises as part of the genuine Martin Engineering range.
Product Description
Martin® Brush Cleaner is a motorised, rotating specialty belt cleaner engineered for belts that carry raised elements such as cleats, chevrons, ribs or lugs, where a standard blade cleaner cannot maintain consistent contact. A one or two-horsepower, 230/460-volt three-phase electric motor turns the brush against the direction of belt travel, dislodging fines and residue trapped in the belt's profile. The Martin® Spiral Brush Cleaner uses 0.038 inch (0.96 mm) polypropylene bristles wrapped in a spiral around the hub, while the Martin® Strip Brush Cleaner uses 12 brush strips that shed even moist material that would plug other brush designs. Used for:
- Removing fines and residue from ribbed, flighted, grooved or chevron conveyor belts
- Light to medium duty secondary cleaning where blade-type cleaners are unsuitable
- Sticky materials or stringy fibers such as coal and biomass
- Coal, biomass, food processing, packaging and other specialty carryback applications
Recommended installation is in the secondary cleaning position where the belt leaves the discharge pulley, or further along the return run supported by an idler or pulley. Accommodates a maximum 3/8" cleat height.
Applications
- Ribbed, flighted, grooved or chevron conveyor belts
- Coal, biomass and other sticky or stringy materials
- Cement, feed, foundry sand, coke and similar dry materials
