PIX-PowerWare® Star / Jaw Couplings
PIX-PowerWare® Star Couplings (also known as Jaw or Spider couplings) are simple, compact flexible couplings that connect two shafts through a resilient star-shaped elastomeric spider sandwiched between two identical jaw hubs. They are widely used on pumps, fans, gearboxes and general-purpose drives where easy installation and low maintenance are important.
Product Description
PIX-PowerWare® Star Couplings are flexible shaft couplings of simple construction, consisting of two identical jaw-type hubs connecting the driving and driven shafts, with a resilient star-shaped rubber (elastomeric) spider element fitted between the jaws. The star element is the only wearing part and can be replaced without disturbing the connected machines in the quick snap-wrap element design.
The range covers Standard Star Couplings, Cushion Star Couplings (with additional vibration-damping cushioning), External Spider Star Couplings, and Standard Spacer Jaw Couplings for applications requiring greater shaft separation. PIX also offers the related PIX-PowerWare® PHRC coupling as a taper-bush jaw-type alternative for flywheel and general-purpose drives.
