BCH DC Brakes are electromagnetic shoe brakes engineered for heavy industrial and mill-duty applications, where smooth, rapid and dependable stopping is essential. They are equally suited to holding a load in place after a hoist, elevator or similar machine has come to rest, thanks to a proven over-the-wheel design that has been refined over decades of field use.

The range is offered in two configurations: Shunt Brakes, available in wheel diameters from 150mm to 800mm (8"–30") with braking torque up to 1242 kg-m, and Series Brakes, available from 200mm to 600mm (8"–23") with torque ratings up to 555 kg-m (half-hour rating). All brake coils use Class-F insulation rated at 660V, and self-lubricating bushings keep maintenance to a minimum. Optional features include a limit switch attachment, manual release and residual magnetism adjustment.
