A contactor is a device for creating and breaking an electrical power circuit, commonly used for turning an electrical motor on and off. Unlike relays, BCH Contactors are engineered to control and suppress the arc created when interrupting heavy motor currents, and unlike a circuit breaker, a contactor is not designed to interrupt a short-circuit current.
