Product Description
A RIFA Compression Load Cell is a type of force sensor used to measure compressive force, i.e. pressing or downward force. It converts mechanical force into an electrical signal that can be measured and displayed on a weighing indicator or control system, making it a core component of silo, tank and hopper based weighing setups.
Compression load cells work on the strain gauge technology principle: when a load is applied to the top surface, the internal metal element slightly deforms, and strain gauges fixed on the element detect this deformation and convert it into a small electrical signal (mV). This signal is amplified and displayed as weight on the connected indicator, giving high accuracy for both static and dynamic loads.
