Cutting a conventional wedge-riveted chain means grinding off the pin head and then hammering the pin through the plates — a slow, messy job. Renold Brand and Renold Synergy transmission chain instead use an end-softened pin with a spin (round) rivet, which the Chain Pin Extractor is purpose-built to remove.

The tool is a screw-operated extractor: turning the screw drives the softened pin straight out of the outer link plates, letting you split the chain by hand in moments. The range covers everything from small-pitch chain up to heavy-duty industrial pitches:
